HENDLEY CAPTURES NORTHERN TEXAS SECTION CALLAWAY GOLF
PGA ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
FOUR ADVANCE TO THE CALLAWAY GOLF PGA NATIONAL ASSISTANT CHAMPIONSHIP

Stuart Hendley, assistant golf professional at Green Tree Country Club in Midland, Texas, captured the Northern Texas Section (NTPGA) Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship title and earned a spot in the field at the 2010 Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship with a 76-66 – 142 (even par) total. After a disappointing first round score of five-over par, 76, Hendley was able to post a one-under par, 34 on the front nine in round two followed by an impressive four-under par, 32 on the back nine. This victory marks Hendley’s first Northern Texas PGA major championship title.

Hendley will lead three other NTPGA Section assistant professionals in the Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship scheduled for November 11 – November 14, 2010 on the Wanamaker Course at The PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Qualifying along with Hendley was Josh Wilks, assistant golf professional at Keeton Park Golf Course in Dallas, Lee Rhind, assistant golf professional at Midland Country Club in Midland and Adam Headley, assistant golf professional at Hillcrest Country Club in Lubbock. Wilks, Rhind and Headley all posted scores of two-over par, 144 and qualified through a five-way playoff in order to determine the spots.

The NTPGA Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship also served as a team qualifier for the 2010 James P. Jordan Cup Matches to be held on November 1-2, 2010 at The Territory in Duncan, Oklahoma. This “Ryder Cup” style event is conducted annually between a team of twelve PGA assistant golf professionals from the Northern Texas Section and the South Central Section of the PGA of America. Hendley earned an exemption onto the 2010 NTPGA James P. Jordan Cup Team for his victory.

The NTPGA Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship was conducted at Mira Vista Country Club, a 6,944-yard par 71 course located in Fort Worth, Texas. A field of 57 assistant golf professionals competed for a share of the $5,000.00 purse. Hendley took home $670.00 for his victory.
