LAS COLINAS, TX –
The team of Richard Noon, PGA teaching professional at The Golf Center at The Highlands, and his amateur partner Shawn Westacott sit at the top of the leaderboard after Round One of the Lajitas Golf Resort & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Pro-Scratch Championship. They fired an opening round of 8-under-par 63 to take the lead into tomorrow’s final round. They managed two eagles and four birdies during Round One.
One shot back of the leaders are the teams of Clark Dennis, PGA TOUR professional on the Champions Tour, and amateur partner Roger Marcincuk as well as Corbin Renner, assistant professional at Shady Oaks Country Club and amateur partner Blake Vinson. Both teams played during today’s afternoon wave, while Noon/Westacott (a) played during the morning wave. New for this year, the Championship includes a Senior Division that is comprised of nine teams with participants paired together aged 50 or older. These teams are competing for a separate $2,450 purse and playing at modified yardages. The team of Jim Henderson, PGA director of golf at Stevens Park Golf Course, and amateur partner Trip Leon lead this division after Round One at 7-under-par 64.
