Northern Texas PGA Breaks Ground on New Office at PGA Frisco

Molly Rawlins • October 19, 2019

The Northern Texas PGA is excited to announce that ground has officially broken in Frisco for the Section’s new office building that is set to open in 2022.

At the end of 2018, it was announced that the Frisco City Council approved a new development that included The PGA of America relocating its headquarters to the City of Frisco. In addition to housing the PGA of America’s headquarters campus, the development is also set to include an Omni resort and 46-holes of golf. The facility is called PGA Frisco.

PGA Frisco will also become the home to the Northern Texas PGA and the Northern Texas PGA Foundation. The Northern Texas PGA Board of Directors and executive staff broke ground on this project today after The PGA of America’s team officially broke ground on the PGA Frisco project earlier in the week.

“It was great to finally begin the project that our membership has been looking forward to getting underway for months now,” said Ronny Glanton, President of the Northern Texas PGA. “Since the announcement last November, North Texas has been buzzing with excitement to get this project going, and no one has been more eager than the men and women PGA professionals who make up the Northern Texas PGA. It was special to be a part of this moment.”

The RFQ for the architects has been completed. The Ratliff Group is managing the construction of the new NTPGA headquarters.

“We could not be more thrilled to start this next chapter in our Section’s history,” said Mark Harrison, Executive Director and CEO of the Northern Texas PGA. “The entire PGA Frisco project has been a long journey, so to see these ideas becoming realities is truly remarkable. We are eager to get the project underway because our team will be able to better execute our mission of serving the PGA Member and growing the game with a new, state of the art complex.”

The two carded a bogey free, 11-under-par, final score after shooting 64 on Old American Golf Club and a 32 on the back nine of Tribute Golf Links. They bested the team of Robby Bruns and Katrina Prendergast from Trinity Forest Golf Club and the team of Cameron Doan and Spencer Dillard from Preston Trail Golf Club, who finished at 9-under-par. It’s a tough format. A lot of holes early in the year.” This win was Sudinsky’s second in the last eight months. Last July he won the Golf Pro Payments Western Championship. “Winning is great, but you can’t take it for granted,” he said after today’s team victory. Spencer Dillard’s rise from a young golfer to a devoted PGA of America Golf Professional is a story of passion and purpose. His love for the game began when he was gifted a Tiger Wood’s golf video game as a kid. Spencer, who is now an Assistant Golf Professional at Preston Trail Golf Club, reflects on a journey shaped by the Ewing Automotive NTPGA Junior Tour. Spencer’s golfing journey began at the age of seven when his parents enrolled him in a small golf camp in McKinney, Texas. A year later, he discovered the Ewing Automotive NTPGA Junior Tour and started competing in tournaments. These early experiences helped him develop both his skills and excitement for the game. Spencer’s first experience on the junior tour was memorable. “I think I shot 72 for my very first [Prep Tour] event,” Dillard shares. “By the end of that year, I shot a 46. I was so happy to go from shooting a 72 for nine holes to [shooting] in the 40s.”
