The team of Stetson McMillan, teaching professional at the John Sikes Golf Academy, and Connor Carver (a) captured first place honors at the 2021 Energy Transfer Pro-Junior Championship. They fired a round of 8-under-par, 64 at Dallas Athletic Club - Blue Course.
The team of Chris Myers, PGA, Director of Instruction at Northwood Club, and Brooks Simmons (a) took second place with a round of 7-under-par, 65. Taking third place via a scorecard playoff with a score of 5-under-par, 67, was Ryan Bowey, PGA, Head Professional at Dallas Athletic Club, and Harrison Carter (a).
This year’s Championship featured 60 teams comprised of one PGA professional paired with one junior golfer between the ages of 7-19. The teams competed in a Four-Ball Stroke Play format. In addition there was a $4,000 Skins Game for the PGA professionals. Carl Worley, PGA, Head Professional at Hide-A-Way Lake Golf Club, and Josh Havard, PGA, Head Professional at Rolling Hills Country Club, each earned one Skin and a $2,000 pay day.
The low team of a PGA professional who partnered with their child was also recognized. There were a total of ten PGA Professional / Child teams in the field. Taking home the title for this division was Josh Havard, and his daughter Kayleigh Havard (a) who shot 3-under-par, 69.
