The team of Daniel Coughlan, PGA head professional at Abilene Country Club, and Stuart Hendley, PGA teaching professional at Green Tree Country Club, as well as the team of Brett Beaty, PGA assistant professional at Dallas National Golf Club, and Benjamin Kern, head professional at Oeste Ranch Golf Course, share the lead after round one of the Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship. Both team fired opening rounds of 7-under par, 65.
Two teams sit just one shot off the pace at 6-under, 66. The team of Jeremy Langdale, PGA head professional at Ranchland Hills Golf Club, and Jeremy Davis, PGA assistant professional at Ranchland Hills Golf Club, and the team of Greg Gregory, assistant professional at Hidden Creek Golf Course, and Henry Cagigal, assistant professional at Meadowbrook Golf Course, will try to apply pressure during tomorrow’s final round. Out of the top four teams currently, Gregory and Cagigal are the only duo to have teamed up to win this event. That win came back in 2012.
The four-ball stroke play Northern Texas PGA major championship features a field of 53, two-man teams of PGA professionals and apprentices competing at Squire Creek Country Club, a par 72, 7,105 yard Tom Fazio designed facility located in Choudrant, Louisiana.
The Horseshoe Casino Pro-Pro Championship is presented by Ace Laminates, Adventures In Golf, AT&T Byron Nelson, Club Car, Golf ScoreCards, Inc., Lorente Golf and TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company. Teams are competing for a share of the $28,500 Championship purse.
